About Us

Our History

Loudoun Academy of Martial Arts was founded in 2004 by Master Gerville Hall, a 6th Degree World Tae Kwon Do Federation and World Tae Kwon Moo Do Federation Black Belt, with almost three decades of experience in Tae Kwon Do. His teaching experience includes work with The North American Tae Kwon Do Academy (Yipsilanti MI) where he continues to serve as a consultant, Central Ohio Tae Kwon Do Academy and Eastern Michigan University. In 2002 after relocating from Michigan to Virginia he began teaching at Ida Lee Recreation Center in Leesburg, VA. With a never ending desire to improve the overall student experience he opened the Academy in April of 2004. The Academy closed briefly in April of 2007 and reopened in October of the same year, under the ownership of Master Kevin Gower, a student and instructor of Master Hall's since the academy's founding. Master Hall continues to be a part of our training, and our lineage.

Martial Arts are not just for self-defense. Like any sport or training program, it can help improve coordination, stamina, strength, flexibility, and more. But beyond the physical benefits, martial arts can also lead to improved concentration, relaxation and reduced stress. Many students also benefit from a greater sense of self-confidence and improved discipline.

What We Offer

We offer Tae Kwon Do classes for all ages, starting with children age four through adult. Classes are divided primarily by age and rank; Lil' Dragons ages 4-6, Children ages 7-12 and Teens ages 13-17 - Adults 18 and older.  We also offer additional training in Olympic style sparring  (specific rank requirements apply).  Click on classes to see complete schedule.

Private lessons are available.

Membership

We do not require or offer long term contracts. Our membership options include: Monthly, Six Month, and One Year.
