Your Family Tae Kwon Do Center

…we’ve been very pleased.  Jack seems to really love it and we sincerely appreciate your demeanor and patience with him.  You are a good teacher and you make the classes fun.

Our daughter Monet started taking Tae Kwon Do at the Loudoun Academy of Martial Arts about nine months ago, on the recommendation of one our neighbors.  We felt compelled to give this school a positive recommendation based on Monet’s remarkable rate of progress and the great amount  one-on-one time and attention she (and all students) receive.  We also notice that Monet has noticeably increased attention span and concentration.  This is a small school and Master Gower, who has thirteen years experience, is a WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation) certified black belt, is looking for new students.  He has students of all belt levels.  We don’t think you will be disappointed if you give him a try, whether you have ever done Tae Kwon Do or if you are looking for a change from your current academy.

My daughters and I have been taking Tae Kwon Do for 4 years. We originally began our training in Dallas at a very traditional school: hence, when we relocated to Leesburg, it was of vital importance that we find a similar school with the same values and standards we had been training under.  It took many weeks of research to find a school  comparable to the one we came from.  Too many schools are “cookie cutter” schools in the sense that belts are given away freely rather than earned via skill and technique.  A true Martial Arts school does not “give belts away”.  Even know we knew that we would become students of Master Gower, once we moved to Leesburg, we tried a few “free” classes (one actually charged $10 a person) in this area (just for fun) and found them to be sub-par at best.  Too many students running around...too much playing rather than learning and a basic lackadaisical attitude.  To top it off, most schools wanted you to sign a “black belt” contract which involved an outlay of a few thousand dollars to guarantee the student would attain a black belt in a set period of time. Any respectable school does not do such a thing.  We have now been students of Loudoun Academy of Martial Arts since July of 2008 and are extremely happy with the quality of the instruction.

I can rest a bit easier knowing my two daughters know how to defend themselves, God forbid, any problem should present itself.  For adults it’s a great way to stay in shape (and you don’t have to be athletically inclined to participate (which I wasn’t).

If you have children (and I highly recommend this for girls… and… moms… of all ages), this is the school to enroll at.
